WATSON Written by Staff Tue, 19 Sep 2006 08/06/1918 ? 09/15/2006 Hannah Campbell Watson, 88, of Paris, and formerly of Paxton, died at 9:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, 2006, at Paris Healthcare Center. She was retired after a 35-year career as an elementary school teacher and principal. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Templeton Funeral Home. Private interment will occur at a later date in Glenn Cemetery, Paxton. Mrs. Watson was born Aug. 6, 1918, at Plumbers Landing, Ky., the daughter of the late Clarence T. Campbell and Bessie D. Rogers Campbell. She married Earl Watson on June 2, 1951, at Loda. He died June 1, 1987. She is survived by one sister, Mary (A.B.) Karp of Minneapolis, Minn.; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Perry of Mystic, Conn., and Doris Niccum of Perry, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. Mrs. Watson was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Paris and former member of the Sycamore Hills Country Club for many years. She was a graduate of Illinois State University and also attended the University of Illinois. She taught in Paxton for several years before moving to Paris, where she served as a teacher and later principal of Memorial Elementary School. Memorial donations may be made to D.O. it!
